Residential (Inpatient) Treatment
Also known as inpatient rehab, this type of treatment completely embodies a person in a program of recovery. In this situation an individual would reside at the treatment facility with other alcoholics and addicted persons. The facilities offer safe, structured and therapeutic environments which allow for the individual to completely focus on their treatment program. They are staffed with medical professionals who monitor progress and administer counseling programs. Residential facilities are very private and offer one-on-one counseling, group therapy, family sessions, along with treatment and aftercare tailored specifically to the needs of each individual. Some teach life skills, medical education, relapse prevention guidelines, as well as an introduction to the 12 step fellowships. Success rates are highest for ongoing recovery with this type of treatment.
